ABOUT US

Idalia Swim was born from a shared dream: to create a swimwear brand rooted in the values of slow fashion and conscious design. Inspired by the sun, Idalia is made for those who live with salt on their skin, sun-soaked days, and a deep sense of gratitude for the natural world around them.
Co-founders Jessica Besne and Eden Cruz met while studying Fashion Design at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Drawn together by their creative spirit and love for the ocean, they quickly became best friends. What started as a conversation between friends has grown into a brand that reflects their shared vision: timeless swimwear that honors both self-expression and the Earth.

The name Idalia comes from Greek origins, meaning “beholder of the sun”, a reflection of everything we stand for. To us, the sun represents warmth, comfort, and a return to nature, a daily reminder to live with intention and to embrace the light from within and around us. Each swimsuit is designed to capture that feeling: sun-kissed skin, the sparkle of the sea, and the freedom of being exactly who you are.

We started Idalia Swim because we couldn’t ignore how fast fashion and overproduction were taking over the industry. As designers, we wanted to slow things down and bring purpose back into clothing. Every suit is made in small batches, sewn by hand, and created with care to feel one-of-a-kind.
While we currently source our fabrics from Los Angeles, we’re actively working to switch to a third-party supplier that offers 100% regenerated materials, like Econyl®; a nylon yarn made from pre- and post-consumer waste.
Everything else happens locally, from design to production, so we can reduce waste, support local makers, and stay true to our values. From recyclable packaging to mindful production, we make every decision with care.
WITH LOVE,
Eden & Jesy
